Three Fun Ways to Explore Hobart with the Kids!
Sometimes, it can be hard to make a family trip fun for everyone, which is why we’ve come up with 3 fun things to do with the family in Hobart. That way, everyone can have a good holiday.
1. The Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery
The Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (TMAG) is a five-minute walk from THe Old Woolstore Apartment Hotel and a great place to take the family. TMAG is perfect for curious kids, and there is always an exhibition or activity that encourages children to play, explore and learn.
2. The Wharf
After a trip to TMAG, take a walk along the wharf to see the yachts and fishing boats that enhance Hobart’s waterfront. There are sculptures to discover on your walk, along with punts along Constitution Dock that sell fish and chips, as well as ice cream from Van Diemen’s Land Creamery. Keep a lookout for Sammy the seal, a chubby and friendly seal who likes to show off for locals and visitors alike.
3. kunanyi/Mount Wellington
If you’re feeling adventurous, make sure to take a trip up kunanyi/Mount Wellington during your stay. With breathtaking views from the top, bush walks for all abilities and Lost Freight Cafe for a re-fuel, it’s a must-do when in Hobart. It can get cold and windy on kunanyi, so make sure to pack plenty of snacks, water and warm clothes.
